The Review:

I don’t know about you, but I’m tired. I’m tired of having to take in so much information. Tired of having to make sense of extra functionality that complicates products needlessly. Just plain old tired.

 

But then I received an e-mail from Terry Sydoryk, VP of Marketing for ActiveConversion, letting me know about their new product ActiveProspects.

 

For those of you who may not be aware, the ActiveConversion product has a lot of functionality. The solution lets you easily qualify website visitors so you can cherry pick the hot leads from the tire kickers. Then it automatically assigns these hot leads to your sales team based on geographic location or other metrics (such as industry.) It can also cycle through not-so-hot prospects and pass them through an email nurturing system.

 

Powerful stuff! But if you don’t have the time or energy to evaluate and coordinate this type of a purchase with your marketing or sales colleagues yet, and it’s all you can do to keep up with the daily sales grind, ActiveProspects might be your ticket.

The Details:

What it does: It tells you which companies visit your web-site and connects you with the right people to talk to using Jigsaw’s 16 million name contact database. In order to track visitors, you do have to install a snippet of code onto each of your web-pages which should take your webmaster oh, about 2 minutes. I know because I’ve done it. The code doesn’t affect your site in anyway.

With ActiveProspects, you don’t pay unless you want to purchase a contact. The visitor information is free, the company information is free and the reporting details are free.

 

If you do need a contact, you simply click on that big green button, where you’ll see an immediate list of all the available contacts’ titles and locations. You can quickly filter the list by job level. If you choose to, you can select any of the contacts you’d like to purchase. The only cost you incur, is if you elect to purchase contact details. It costs 5 credits. You buy credits for 50 cents. So one contact will cost $2.50.

 

How to get started:

1) Go to the ActiveProspects site, sign up for an account – it’s free to sign up and the information on which companies are visiting is also free.

 

2) Confirm the registration via e-mail, and be active literally within 2 minutes. The code to install on your site is in the registration e-mail, so you can easily forward it to your webmaster.

 

3) Login to your account and to see a list of the visiting companies, real time. You can filter the results by time-period. Alternatively, you can activate a real-time streaming ticker tape of visitors which you can see without being logged on. If you click on a company name, it will log you back into the system.

 

Why it’s helpful:

You can see real time, which companies are visiting. You can hover over the company name to find out where they’re located, what industry they’re in, how many employees, amount of revenue, and whether they are public or private. You don’t have to click on anything, just do a quick peek to decide whether it’s your lead, or whether it fits the profile of a good lead.

 

It also scores the lead based on a simple (there’s that word again) to use settings dialogue box. You choose how many points you require for a lead to receive a high, med or low score. And then you decide how many points to give to a page visit and a return visit.

Back on the visitor log, you see whose visiting; you can hover to learn more about them; and you see the lead score based on your pre-defined settings.

 

You’ll also notice a G where you can click for an automatic Google search using that company’s name. And, you’ll also see a big green button by the company name that tells you how many contacts are available through Jigsaw’s extensive database of contacts which include emails and phone numbers.
